Verification Process

Verification Process

How EV-Art Verifies Human-Made Artwork

At EV-Art, every artwork submitted to the marketplace goes through a structured verification process designed to protect artists, collectors, and buyers. Our goal is simple: to ensure that artwork listed as human-made genuinely meets that standard.

Automated analysis

Each submission is checked for originality and risk signals.

Human review

Flagged cases are reviewed by trained moderators.

Vendor clarity

Artists receive outcomes and guidance where appropriate.

Overview

Overview

This process combines automated analysis with human review, helping EV-Art maintain quality without slowing creators down unnecessarily.

  • Protect artists, collectors, and buyers.
  • Keep marketplace standards clear and consistent.
  • Balance speed with careful review.

Why verification matters

Why Verification Exists

With the rise of automated and synthetic content, it has become increasingly important to distinguish between original work, unauthorised reproductions, and fully or partially AI-generated content.

  • Original, human-created artwork
  • Replicated or unauthorised reproductions
  • Fully or partially AI-generated content

Layered review

How the Verification Process Works

Every new submission passes through a layered review flow. Automated checks help surface signals early, but they do not make final decisions on their own.

1. Submission

When a vendor publishes a new artwork, it is automatically verified. No extra steps are required to begin.

2. Automated Analysis

Proprietary tools evaluate visual characteristics, originality signals, similarity risks, and patterns associated with synthetic generation.

3. Proof & Context Review

Some artworks may require additional context, such as work-in-progress material, creation details, or method notes.

4. Human Moderation

Trained moderators review flagged submissions, complaints, contextual information, and verification signals before a final decision is made.

5. Outcome & Status

After review, artwork is marked as Verified, Pending, or Removed and vendors are notified of the result.

Statuses

Outcome & Status

After review, each artwork is assigned a status so vendors understand exactly where it stands.

Verified

Approved as human-made and eligible for sale.

Pending

Requires further review or clarification.

Removed

Does not meet marketplace requirements.

Boundaries

What Verification Is Not

To ensure fairness and integrity, some details of the system are intentionally not public.

  • A single automated test
  • A simple checkbox or keyword scan
  • A system that can be bypassed by altering metadata or file names

Fairness

Transparency & Fairness

Verification should support genuine artists without creating unnecessary barriers.

Consistent

Applied equally to all vendors.

Proportionate

Requests extra information only when needed.

Respectful

Designed to support artists, not discourage them.

For vendors and members

Getting Verified Successfully

To help your submissions move smoothly through verification, provide clean, original, well-documented work whenever possible.

  • Upload high-quality, original artwork.
  • Avoid submitting content you do not have full rights to.
  • Provide clear information when prompted.
  • Keep your vendor profile accurate and complete.

Trust signal

Final Note for Vendors

Verification is not a barrier, it is a signal of trust. By participating in the process, vendors help build a marketplace where original work is valued, buyers feel confident, and artists are protected.
